The service
Independent verification, audited against ISO 14064-3
We independently audit your carbon figures to verify whether they hold up under scrutiny, auditing both the calculations behind them and the evidence you hold in support. Our audit follows the requirements set out in ISO 14064-3, the international standard for greenhouse gas verification.
Completeness
Check if anything material is missing from the inventory or the supporting paperwork.
Traceability
Ensure that every figure traces back to a source document, meter reading or invoice.
Scope and methodology
Assess whether organisational and operational boundaries and calculation methods match what's been claimed.
Consistency
Determine if the Carbon Reduction Plan or customer-facing claim match what the underlying data actually shows.
Independent verification is not accredited verification. For a large part of the SME and mid-market world, customer-facing carbon claims, Carbon Reduction Plans, most commercial tenders, and lender or grant due diligence. UKAS-accredited verification is only mandatory in specific regimes, such as ETS, CORSIA and other aviation rules, or B Corp. Outside those, our sign-off is an endpoint in its own right, not a placeholder for someone else's audit.
Where accredited verification is required or wanted, we're a cost-effective pre-check that surfaces gaps before that formal audit begins, not a substitute for it.
